‘The Master' Screening In San Francisco Tomorrow Night; New Teaser Is Here

Just moments ago Al Rose Promotions unveiled another special teaser trailer featuring a coda advertising yet another benefit screening for "The Master," this one to be held tomorrow night at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. You will recall that Paul held a special advance screening of "There Will Be Blood" at the very same theatre 5 years ago and many had pegged this as a possibility on his "The Master" unofficial secret screenings tour. Like the Chicago screening, this will also benefit the Film Foundation and tickets will be $10. Believe that my Cigs & Vines partner CJ will be in attendance at this event so if you see him, feel free to say hello.

Get your tickets here.

    3. agreed. i was gonna ask that. i feared that Paul might be spoiling the film too much. it's nice that it's NOT in the film. hahaha.

it's interesting. could it be he shot this material just for the trailers and teasers. leave it to Paul to fully understand everything about movie, even HOW it should be marketed.

  11. Why did Chicago and Cali have to be "announced", but not NYC?!? So depressing.

  21. Do you think Paul knew the Castro had a 70mm projector before I mentioned I had seen the 2001 Space Odyssey there, back in 2001? In 70mm?

I think everybody from San Francisco owes me thanks that this is happening here tonight!

    You're welcome :)

  27. Ahh I didn't spot him. Was he talking to people or just seen? I remember close to the film starting someone that looked a lot like him darted across the stage to applause and some cheering...

  28. Can't believe I was out of town for this! Any chance they'll be showing it in 70mm at Castro after the official release? Did they do that with There Will Be Blood at all?

  29. PTA was there, sporting a bright blue hoodie. Maya Rudolph and their daughter (who was helping sell rare MASTER t-shirts with other kids) were also ambling around the lobby, talking to people, taking pictures, etc. It was all very casual. My friends, a friend I made in line, and myself all spotted Joanne Sellar taking pictures of the marquee. We started to applaud her and practically made her blush with shyness. It was, like the film itself, a great and surreal experience I'll never forget.

    1. That sounds awesome. I overheard someone saying something about Maya Rudolph being there but never spotted her either. Did you get a chance to talk to either of them?

    2. Every time I saw them, they had lots of fans surrounding them, so I didn't want to bother them. I met PTA in 2006 in a Q&A, so it didn't really phase me not to approach him. Maya Rudolph seemed like a nice person.
